Welcome to Jennings Orthodontics! We couldn’t be happier to help you take the first step toward a healthier smile by scheduling your orthodontic consultation. We appreciate the trust you’ve placed in our expert team, and it’s important to us that you feel confident in your decision to improve your oral health with us.
Your initial visit with us is the beginning of your journey to a beautiful smile! It’s our chance to meet and get to know a bit about each other, and we’ll also take a look at your teeth and discuss any concerns you have about your smile. We want this visit to be exciting, informative, and stress-free. That’s easier to achieve if you know what to expect before you arrive!
Keep reading below to learn more about what happens during your complimentary consultation and what comes next if you decide to move forward with braces or aligner treatment.
Meet and greet
Our new patient paperwork is available for you to download, so you can complete it at your convenience and bring it to your first appointment. If you don’t fill out the paperwork ahead of time, no worries! Just plan to arrive about fifteen minutes before your appointment so you can complete it in our office.
Whether you choose our Chamberlain Pointe or Mt. Washington office, you’ll be greeted warmly when you enter! We’ll introduce you to a few members of our talented team and give you a brief tour to help you feel more comfortable with your surroundings. We’ll then take a few X-rays of your teeth and the supporting bone structure before you meet with Dr. Jennings.
As she examines your teeth, gums, and mouth, Dr. Jennings may also ask you if you’ve had any problems chewing, swallowing, or opening and closing your mouth. She’ll use the information from your medical and dental history, exam, and x-rays to make your initial diagnosis. This also allows her to create a personalized treatment plan for you that is based on your unique smile and specific needs.
We never want you to feel as though we’re rushing you through your appointments, especially the first one! You can expect your initial visit with us to last about an hour or so. This will give us time to perform an exam, discuss your diagnosis, and address any questions or concerns you may have at this point. You can also expect us our team to cover other topics, such as:
- any oral issues you are experiencing
- if treatment is needed immediately or if waiting is recommended
- what treatment options are available to correct the problem
- an estimate of how long we expect your treatment to take
- the total investment required for treatment
- any payment or financing options we have available to you
Here at Jennings Orthodontics, we’re proud to provide our patients with a high level of personalized care that takes into account their specific needs, lifestyle, and goals. This individualized approach means we’re able to consistently produce superior results that patients love!
Investing in a healthier smile
Once we’ve gone over all your options and you’ve decided on a treatment plan with Dr. Jennings, we’ll discuss the total investment needed for your new smile. Because every case is different, the total treatment costs will vary from person to person. You never need to worry about hidden treatment costs here, however! Our team will always ensure that you understand exactly what to expect before the active phase of your treatment ever begins.
We believe every patient should have access to affordable orthodontic care, and never want finances to stand in the way of our patients achieving a beautiful, healthy smile! If you have dental insurance that covers orthodontic treatment, our team will be happy to research your benefits to help you maximize them. We also offer flexible payment plans to fit every budget.
What happens next?
After you’ve decided on a treatment plan that works for you and your smile, we’ll schedule an appointment for you to start the active phase of treatment. Depending on the type of treatment you’ll be using, you can expect follow-up visits with us every 4-8 weeks or so. During these check-ups, Dr. Jennings will assess your progress and check that your teeth are moving as they should be. If you’re wearing traditional braces, she’ll also use this time to make any necessary adjustments.
These visits are an essential part of the treatment process, so it’s important that you don’t skip them! Although we do our best to schedule your appointments for a day and time that is convenient for you, we know that there may be days when you’re running late or can’t make your appointment for some reason. If this occurs, please let us know as soon as possible so we can reschedule your appointment for another day. This will help keep your treatment plan on track!
